Katie – Striped Dress (7.18.12)

I envy the pregnant gals who can wear the body conscious dresses when they are pregnant, because they look ‘cute’ with their visible bump. For me I would have to either turn the clock back, or starve because my big brunch might be mistaken for a baby bump if I wore this. Katie pretty much always looks great. Here are some versions for body types of all shapes and sizes:

Katie- Python Print Blouse 2 (6.19.12)

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This isn’t a repeater though. It’s just a similar blouse, with different shades of python to the one I went cra-zee over when Katie wore it on the May 10th episode. In this version of the blouse however, the python print pops a little more. And yes that’s a scowl on Katie’s face, as she becomes aware of her hubby being a snake in the grass in Puglia. Here’s the Real Deal. You can still buy the less expensive similar Real World versions that are on that May post:

Katie – Knit Tank Dress (6.6.12)

Look who’s starting to shine! And in a pretty summer tank dress, flaring into the skirt at just the right spot. And wearing perfect bangle to accessorize. The single side braid works with the look too, allows you to see the big smile on Katie’s face. Here are some similar dresses:

Katie – Bright Blouse (5.23.12)

Nobody seems too happy about Katie being pregnant. I hate that when you give what you would expect to be good news, only to be met with the stink face. She tried; with a big bright smile, and a big bright blouse to match. But even that didn’t de-ice Brooke’s reaction to the news. I love seeing Katie in bright colors, and this one is about as high on the bright scale as you can get. I am almost positive that this Zara shirt is the Real Deal:

Katie – Black & White Dress (5.18.12)

Don’t you just love Fridays? For so many reasons. And in the Soaps world it is like Christmas every Friday, being left with a huge gift to marinate on all weekend long. I don’t want to spoil storyline too much JUST in case you haven’t seen this episode yet. Let’s just say it involves the star of our post today and her delicate dedicated husband Bill.

Let’s get to the dress. What do you think? Here’s what I like about it. I like the draping, the asymmetry, and the very unexpected way the contrast colors work; with the black on back wrapping forward into the bodice. What I don’t like about it. I think it’s about 4 inches too short on Katie on the shortest part of the hem, and the cut is, well, kind of unusual. Unless Katie is pregnant in real life (oops I just blew the story line), then this dress seems too baggy. Maybe it is supposed to be a looser fit, if so, I’m not a huge fan. Which is unusual because I LOVE Helmut Lang, and I also love how Katie looks in just about everything. Or maybe if the fit is intended to be looser then it may work better on someone like Carolyn or Steffy. I find myself wanting to love it, but I can’t. Maybe on Monday it will grow on me. Here’s the Real Deal:

Katie – Sheer Python Print Blouse (5.10.24)

I’m not used to seeing Katie flouncing around. She did, she kind of flitted and flounced around this episode, it was unusually awkward to watch, and quite out of character. She could have done cartwheels in Liam’s house for all I care, because she was owning her sheer python print blouse. Totally on trend this season, and it’s just kind of easy, breezy chic. Flit and flounce, easy, breezy, not exactly stellar writing on my part, but oh whatever, you get where I’m going. Here is the Real Deal and some less expensive versions.

Katie – Grey sleeveless dress (3.20)

Katie wearing her standard sheath dress today. I posted this one because I liked the uneven hemline, kind of a cool design element. It’s not quite a high-low hem that we are seeing a lot of, but a cool subtler version. The dress just has a nice casual chic to it with it’s V neckline and with it being sleeveless. Once again she is in a muted tone, this time a grey. I just wish she wasn’t carrying that huge camel suitcase purse again. With such a great baseline, some bangles in corral or red or turquoise would look fab. Welcome in spring a little! But, Katie always looks great no matter what. Here’s a few options for the dress:

Katie – Abstract Print Dress (Feb 22)

When do you ever see Katie dressed down? Rarely. Here she is at the ‘Bikini Beach Bar’ , hanging out with all the kids, and looking very dressed up. It might be her pony tail making the dress look more formal. Maybe if she had her hair down in loose ‘beachy’ waves she would fit in a bit more.

However, the print of the dress is so fashion forward. Lots of large prints are out there for spring, including oversized blown up flower prints, and tie dye/ batik like large scale ethnic prints like this. The asymmetrical billowy one sleeve adds another pretty feminine element to the original. This would look great with a blazer or leather jacket on top. I love the tights with the dress on the model in the last image. So here they are, a couple of similar options, and affordable ones too:

Katie – Camel Purse (Feb 16)

I was a bit surprised to see Katie carrying such a rather large purse, I mean it’s big. However if you are carrying your makeup, ipad, and just about anything else then its a great multi-purpose bag. The camel color of course matches everything, and it would be a great travel bag. This isn’t one that’s a good evening transition though, however you could easily fit an evening clutch in there. Here is a similar version to the original.
